Is Boring Faster than Reaming?

When making holes it can be difficult to decide between reaming or boring. Which way is actually faster?

A balanced boring head like the BIG KAISER EWB-UP Series 309 can produce finished bores faster than conventional reamers. These heads feature diameter adjustments of .00005” and an integrated counterweight that allows for high cutting speeds to provide higher feed rates with a single insert than other multiple tip tools.

In addition to shorter process times, the auto balance heads also provide superior bore roundness.
