BIG KAISER Wins Global Industry Award 2020 with EWA Fully Automated Fine Boring Tool

Ruemlang, Switzerland — BIG KAISER, a global leader in premium high-precision tooling systems and solutions for the metalworking industries, has won the Global Industry Award 2020 in the production performance category for its EWA, a fully automatic fine boring tool.

The EWA was submitted for the award through Boulland DPM, BIG KAISER’s partner in France. The production performance category highlights innovations focusing on the significant improvement of key metrics or performance through productivity gains.

The EWA is an intelligent, fully automatic fine boring tool that requires no human operator. It enables fast and accurate boring, because the process no longer needs to be stopped to take measurements and manually adjust the fine boring tool. This not only saves time, but also minimizes the costly scrap caused by manual adjustment errors.

Created in 2018, the Global Industry Awards (GIA) are announced at the Global Industry exhibition, which attracts 2,500 exhibitors and 45,000 visitors from around the world. The awards recognize the development of a product, service or innovation aimed at improving industrial performance, optimizing production tools or developing corporate social responsibility.

Due to COVID-19, the Global Industry exhibition for 2020 was cancelled. Despite this, the organizers of the show announced the seven winners selected by the jury. An award ceremony will take place in Paris in Autumn 2020.
