Ruemlang, Switzerland – April 25, 2018 – BIG KAISER, a global leader in premium high-precision tooling systems and solutions for the metalworking industries, has launched a new version of its smartphone and tablet app. The new BIG KAISER boring app v1.6 provides full wireless control of BIG KAISER’s EWE family of digital fine boring heads, as well as cutting data for this brand-new range of the company’s boring heads.
The app is compatible with Android smart devices, iPhones and iPads. It now makes the configuration, monitoring and readjustment of EWE boring heads even simpler. Connectivity via Bluetooth provides additional flexibility, enabling operators to remotely leverage the power of the app to track cutting diameter deviations, determine optimal cutting parameters for entire tool assemblies, etc.
Of course, the app also provides all the cutting data required for any standard application and supports an extensive range of boring heads, based on BIG KAISER’s long-term know-how and experience. In total, app v1.6 contains complete data for 61 BIG KAISER rough and fine boring heads, ranging from a diameter of 0.4 mm up to 620 mm. To enable worldwide use, the user may easily toggle between imperial and metric measuring units.
"Since its initial launch in 2016, the app has been downloaded thousands of times and we've received lots of positive feedback.", said Christian Spicher, Head of Marketing at BIG KAISER, continuing, "So we have tried to make this new version special by adding new features, expanding language support to reach an even wider international market and have resolved minor teething issues. This app ideally supplements BIG KAISER's flagship Industry 4.0 product: the EWE wireless boring head and is further proof of our commitment to this area."
For EWE heads, the BIG KAISER boring app v1.6 will log historical adjustments for all the tools ever synced with it, providing crucial information to companies adopting and implementing smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 techniques now and in the future.
This user-friendly app is now available in five languages: English, German, Italian, French and Spanish. Updated user manuals are available in English, French and German.
BIG KAISER has plans to continue to improve the app, with the next release expected later in 2018. Some of these planned improvements include more powerful features for administering multiple boring tools and options for exporting historical data to a file.
The BIG KAISER boring app v1.6 is available now for free download on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
