IMTS 2018: In the Rearview Mirror
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the BIG KAISER booth during IMTS. It was an amazing six days filled with engaging conversations, knowledge sharing, and for many of us, reminiscing with long-time friends.
IMTS, the largest and longest running manufacturing technology trade show in the United States, broke records for registration, exhibition space, exhibiting companies and number of booths. Registration reached nearly 130,000. More than 2,500 exhibiting companies occupied 1.42 million square feet of exhibit space in more than 2,100 booths.
Focusing on Industry 4.0, the evolution of the EWA and EWE finish boring heads garnered much attention from attendees. We are honored the EWE finish boring heads received an IMTS Exhibit Product Innovation Honorable Mention.
The EWE finish boring heads, which have a digital display to show incremental movement of the cutting edge, use Bluetooth® Technology to pair with the BIG KAISER App, and are combined with data from the boring head to show the expected output from the tool and signal operators to make a diameter correction based on the tolerance and the last measured bore produced by the tool.

We were also fortunate to host Charlie Mitchell, a machinist at Andretti Autosport in our booth a few days. He shared tips on how he uses UNILOCK workholding systems in his shop for multiple drivers across five different racing platforms.
As the dust settles from this show, we have already started planning to make IMTS 2020 even bigger and better than this year.
